Theory of Change

How does change take place?

Everyone is not ready to change in every moment and that is okay.

No one can be made to truly change by anyone — it has to be a non-coerced and informed decision.

When a person is ready to change, change is available to them and is utterly limitless. Each person decides for themselves how much change they will achieve.

Alexis believes that change occurs when individuals, through the guidance and power of the Holy Spirit, willingly enter into a place of vulnerability, accept and examine their own woundedness, and participate fully in a process of learning and practicing new mindsets and behaviors whilst shedding old ones.

Change occurs when the truth of who and what we are meets the grace that leads to hope.

Change happens when the bondage of sin is replaced by the newness of freedom.

Change happens as we heal, and we heal as we change.

Change is often slow, unpredictable, and nonlinear. It is hard to say with precision how long change will take or what the change process will look like. Change does not happen in the same way for different people, even if they are struggling with the same issues and see the same counselor.

True, lasting, meaningful change will require repeated sacrifice, commitment, and humility.
